Atomic Artistry at the Fitchburg Art Museum

Don’t forget about this juried art exhibition currently on display in the Community Gallery of the Fitchburg Art Museum until March 30!

Eco-Nuclear Solutions, Massachusetts Cultural Council, and Generation Atomic are proud to present the top submissions of this juried art exhibition. The Atomic Artistry Exhibition put out an invitation for the creation of artistic interpretations of the benefits of the power and safety of nuclear energy, and received entries from seven states and ten countries, including twelve entries from Massachusetts.

The goal of the exhibition is to show nuclear power in a positive light, in direct contrast to the way it is often vilified in marketing, media, and politics. It’s a chance to reconsider an energy source that is renewable, safe, and reliable.

Submissions to Atomic Artistry were judged on artistic merit, as well as how well they communicated the exhibition’s themes of safety, reliablity, and nuclear energy as an earth-friendly solution that can be used to reduce carbon dioxide emissions while meeting the world’s escalating energy demands. The exhibition includes creative drawings, paintings, sculptures, mixed media, digital prints, and posters. The winning artwork and top submissions will be on display at FAM March 6-30.

Fitchburg Art Museum is open 12:00pm to 4:00pm, Wednesday through Friday, 11:00am to 4:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and 12:00pm to 7:00pm on the first Thursday of every month. Ticket prices range from free to $9. You can learn more about FAM ticket pricing and general Museum guidelines here.
