Winter Tree Identification Walk at New England Botanic Garden

Come enjoy the fresh air at this educational tree identification walk at the New England Botanic Garden, January 13, 1:00-3:00pm!

Boston-based herbalist and arborist Alex Klein will lead this guided walk through the gardens and surrounding woodlands, and will help you learn to really see the trees around you. Even without their leaves, trees reveal their true identities in minute yet reliable ways. Learn to take a close look at characteristics such as buds, leaf scars, and branching patterns to accurately identify your local trees.

Klein will also talk about reading your local landscape, and explain why you might find certain trees in one environment, but not others, plus many other fun facts and tidbits on local ecology and arboreal ethnobotony!
