Prehistoric Artifacts at Thayer Memorial Library

Prehistoric Artifacts will be presented and on display at Thayer Memorial Library in Lancaster on Wednesday, May 15 from 6:30-7:30pm.

Lancaster’s public library has housed a historical museum since 1863. One cabinet contains stone tools and objects collected in the earliest days of the museum. They are no doubt the most ancient objects from the history of Lancaster and New England we have, yet we have little information about them. There is much to know and appreciate about these items and why we have them. Thayer Memorial Library’s Chair of the Trustees, Emily Rose, will discuss her findings as she worked with the Library museum’s collection of neolithic tools.
