Enjoy Nordic Walking on Groton's Trails with Gail Holland!

Join Gail Holland as she leads you in the Nordic walking technique on Groton’s local trails, April 9, 23, and 30, and May 7, 14, and 21, 9:30-10:30!

This fun walking technique, which originated in Norway and has gained popularity across Europe, boosts cardio and gives you a full-body strength workout. The use of adjustable poles with hand straps helps propell you forward, and are also great for stability and preventing falls out on the trail.

There’s a small learning curve to this unique walking technique, which will be easily overcome with instructor Gail Holland’s training class at the beginning of each session. These sessions are meant for those 18 years and older.

Registration for each session is $15, with a special deal of $90 to sign up for all six sessions. Registration can be found on the Prescott Community Center website, here. This class requires you to bring your own walking poles. Gail Holland has listed advice for quality, affordable poles on the registration page.

The class will meet out on the trails. April 9: Harry Rich Trail. April 23: The Throne. April 30: Groton Town Forest- Dead River Rd, Ames Pond Rd. May 7: Fitch’s Bridge Ice Line Trail. May 14: Sawtell Conservation Area. May 21: Indian Rock Trail.
