“The Music Man” Performed by New Players Theater Guild, Fitchburg

The New Players Theater Guild in Fitchburg proudly presents The Music Man, November 3, 4, 10, and 11 at 7:30pm, and November 5 and 12 at 2:00pm.

This Broadway classic, written and composed by Meredith Willson, follows the story of con man Harold Hill as he poses as a boys’ band organizer and leader. He sells instruments and uniforms to naive townsfolk in the mid-west, with promises to train members of the new band. However, being that he’s no musician, Hill plans to skip town without giving any music lessons. Marian, a librarian and piano teacher, sees right through him, but starts to fall for him when she sees how he helps her younger brother overcome his lisp and social awkwardness. Come watch as this smooth con man risks his whole scheme in an attempt to win the girl’s heart!
