I Am Autistic: I Am Fantastic – The Musical
July 17, 2024 @ 3:30 pm - 4:15 pm

I Am Autistic: I Am Fantastic – The Musical at the Forbush Memorial Library in Westminster on Wednesday, July 17 from 3:30-4:15pm.
Using musical instruments, creative movement, poetry, and problem-solving activities, this presentation will inspire, uplift, and educate autistic children, families, and the community at-large. In 1970, the Autism Society launched a nationwide effort to promote autism awareness and assure that all affected are able to achieve the highest quality of life. The musical selections in the presentation are inspirational, they include contemporary jazz songs, 70’s music, soft rock, hip hop, and selections from popular Broadway musicals.
The musical will be presented by The MUSIC Dance.edu youth performing company. Our children artists are between the ages of 6 to 11 years, they are talented musicians and dancers. The musical was written by Professor Rondae Drafts, the former Director of a hip-hop dance company in Massachusetts. Rondae has written two books, one play and two musicals. She has taught Music, Dance, Writing, and Theater courses at colleges and universities throughout New England.
This presentation is sponsored in part by the Westminster Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
