Nissitissit Quartet – European Cruise Concert at the Shirley Meeting House

Nissitissit Quartet will be live at the Shirley Meeting House on Friday, April 12 at 7:00pm.

They will be performing their European Cruise Concert. Among the many cultural contributions of coastal European countries, music from Italy, Spain, France, the British Isles, and Scandinavia has enriched not only locally, but also worldwide, inspiring each nation’s diaspora and eventually the broader populace. Please join the Nissitissit String Quartet as we touch on the music of each nationality, often contrasting a beloved classical work from centuries ago with something contemporary and iconic. The British set, for example, starts with a classical gem by Vaughan Williams and ends with Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody via a jazz standard, The Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square, and a Beatles tune in between. Up north, Grieg’s Wedding Day at Troldhaugen sets the stage for Abba’s Dancing Queen.

The Nissitissit String Quartet is four colleagues and friends who are committed to serving Northwest Middlesex County communities, offering multi-generational concerts that are fun and engaging for a wide audience.
