Groton Hill Flute Orchestra Season Opener

The Groton Hill Flute Orchestra will open the season with a concert at Groton Hill Music Center, December 3, 3:00-6:00pm.

Led by director Nicole O’Toole, the Groton Hill Flute Orchestra features the full range of sound that flutes have to offer, inluding the piccolo, eb flute, alto flute, bass flute, and even the contra-bass flute!

The first half of this concert will feature Peter Shicklele’s Monochrome V, a colorful composition inspired by stained glass windows, and two brand-new compositions for flute orchestra which bring to mind the era of community concerts at the turn of the twentieth century. After intermission, the Flute Orchestra will move toward seasonal favorites such as Dance of the Tumblers and The Greensleeves Fantasia, as well as songs to celebrate the Hanukkah and Christmas seasons.

Tickets are $20.08 including fees. Children aged 12 years and younger enjoy free admission.
