Cyanotype Holiday Cards at the New England Botanic Garden

Come make some cyanotype holiday cards at the New England Botanic Garden, December 3, 10:00-12:00pm!

This rewarding, educational, and playful workshop centers around the cyanotype process, also known as the blueprint process due to its deep blue color. The workshop will delve into the history of the method, and how it is adapted to home-printing. This is one one the easiest printing methods which can be done at home, without expensive equipment or a darkroom. The chemicals needed are easy to find and inexpensive, so after you learn the process at the workshop, you can continue making more prints on your own at home!

For this workshop, participants use specimens from the garden for printing, and will work with the sun as their UV light source, so the sun and the weather at the time will determine the intensity and type of cyanotype produced. All participants will go home with their own cyanotype holiday cards to send to friends and family, or keep for themselves.

Registration is $50 for member adults, and $65 for nonmember adults. This price includes general admission to the garden.
