Nissitissit String Quartet at the Lawrence Library

The Nissitissit String Quartet is four long-time colleagues and friends with a mutual desire for a fresh and fun performance experience. Musical treasures arranged for quartet from jazz standards, ragtime, Latin, classical, folk and fiddle, pop, rock, Broadway, and Hollywood make up multi-generational concerts that are upbeat and engaging for a wide audience. The 2024 program, European Cruise, contrasts well-known classics among different genres from the same land. Starting in Italy, the musical excursion stops in Spain, France, the British Isles, and then finishes among various Scandinavian countries. The English part of the British set, for example, starts with a classical favorite by Vaughan Williams and ends with Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody via a jazz standard, The Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square, and a Beatles hit or two. Grieg’s Wedding Day at Troldhaugen is paired with Abba’s Dancing Queen.

Music events are held in the intimate, smoke-free environment of the Art Gallery. Fantastic acoustics draw musicians and listeners from throughout New England. All programs are free and open to the public.

The Classical Collective of Pepperell series is funded by the Pepperell Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency, and the Friends of the Library.

Light refreshments are available; coffee provided by Starbucks Coffee, Nashua, NH. Donations for PACH, our local food pantry, are welcome at all of our music events.
