Candlelight Vespers – Christmas Reflections

Shirley Meetinghouse on the Common welcomes you for a moment of peace and reflection on the holiday season, December 3, 6:30pm.

Amidst the hustle, bustle, and stress of the modern holiday season, the peace and tranquility of traditional holiday carols in the Shirley Meetinghouse on the Common is a splendid way to start the season off right. This program will feature music, stories, and poems that will give you a moment to truly breath and reflect on the meaning of this season and the peace it offers each of us.

Lois Toeppner will perform traditional carols on the Meetinghouse’s historic Stevens Tracker Organ. The Meetinghouse Chorale, under the direction of Bernard Crane and accompanied by pianist Elenye German, makes a heroic return after a stretch of years without a full chorus at the Meetinghouse. And in the spirit of the season, the audience is of course invited to lift their voices in singing some traditional carols.

Attendees are invited to the Center Town Hall after the program for warm cider, dessert, and a good time with friends and family.
