Hubbardston’s Dinghy Dash Returns August 26

Race boats made of nothing but cardboard and duct tape at Brigham Pond in Hubbardston on August 26 at 10am.

The rules for the race are simple. Each dinghy must be constructed using nothing but cardboard and duct tape. That means no paint, no Styrofoam, no Flex Seal or any other kind of material. Store-bought oars are permitted, but all vessels must remain under human power during the race. One captain and up to three crew members are allowed to operate the dinghy, but the captain and crew must all be in the vessel as it crosses the finish line to be counted as non-sinking.

Registration is $20 per dinghy. There are three categories–single occupant under 18, single occupant over 18, and group of 2-4. There are prizes and trophies!
