Summer Festival at Saima Park

Lots of family fun, food, activities and a good time at the Summer Festival at The Finnish Center at Saima Park on June 18 at 9:30am

8:45 – 9:15 – Registration for the Dana M. Sulin Memorial Chess Tournament

9:30 – Chess tournament, run by George Mirijanian

10:00 – Games for all ages: Mölkky lawn bowling, obstacle course, corn hole,
and more!

  • Basket Raffle
  • Raivaaja books and music sold

Food

10:00 – Hot and cold beverages, Finnish coffee bread and cinnamon rusks.
$2.00 each

  • Loaves of pulla – $10
  • Loaves of korppu/rusks – $6
  • Large cupcakes – $2

11:00 – Hot dogs and chips – $5

11:30 – 12:30 – Chicken barbecue dinner: half chicken, potato salad, cucumber salad, cranberry sauce, bread and butter. $15.

Entertainment:

11:00 – 12:00 – Fitchburg State University Community Orchestra

12:00 – 1:00 – Oivan Ilo Folk Musicians and Revontulet Folk Dancers

1:00 – Roy Helander will recite a poem “Letter to my Grandparents” by
Marlene Ekola Gerberick (see description)

1:30 – 2:30 – Featured performer, singer-songwriter Eeppi Ursin (see description)
