The Gardner Museum Presents the Crash of Delta Flight 723 July 20

Winchendon-born US Army Veteran Paul D. Houle talks about the worst plane crash in New England history 6:30p-8:00p at the Gardner Museum.

Paul D. Houle is a former traffic accident investigator with the US Army and spent 25 years in the transportation industry, and will be discussing the crash of Delta flight 723 at Boston’s Logan International Airport in 1973: the origins of the flight, the events leading up to the crash, and the story of the sole survivor (for 134 days).

The history of aviation in  Northern New England, the merger of Northeast Airlines and Delta Airlines, investigative procedures of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), and the impact of Watergate on those will also be covered.

The event will start with a reception from 6:30 to 7:00.

Signed copies of both of Houle’s books (The Crash of Delta Flight 723 and The Crash of Piedmont Airlines Flight 22) will be available for purchase.
