April 20 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Discover more about the local birds in your yard and how to start identifying them. Learn which birds are common in Massachusetts and which ones are fun to study! We will learn fun easy ways to get started in the world of birding! We will learn a few common bird songs and will be able to identify some by the end of the program. Create and then take home 2 simple feeders to attract local birds. Best suited for ages 3+.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Fitchburg Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
After the morning Beginning Birding for Kids program at the Fitchburg Public Library, join North County Land Trust at Crocker Conservation Area where experienced birder and NCLT board member Wilson Acuna will take kids out to test out their newly learned bird calls. Wilson will lead this walk to look for birds, test out bird calls, and try out some binoculars out in the woods.
If you aren’t able to attend the morning session at the Fitchburg Public Library, that’s ok, we welcome you to join the bird walk at Crocker either way!
Please wear outdoor shoes and clothes and dress for the weather. If you have binoculars, please bring them, we will have some to share, too. Please register so we know to expect you.
Register on the North County Land Trust website (for bird walk): https://northcountylandtrust.org/events/bird-walk-for-kids/
